Brian “Scott” Nelson, 43, of Winder, died Saturday, September 20, 2008.
Born in Logan, W.Va., he was the son of Mary Ann Gardner and step-father, Charles Gardner of Napoleon, Ohio, and the late Thomas Ronald Nelson.
He had worked for the City of Winder and had worked construction in the past. He was a member of New Hope Assembly of God in Switzer, W.Va.
Survivors in addition to his mother and step-father, include his wife, Marie Nelson, Winder; a son, Daniel Lee Nelson, Auburn; brothers, Ronnie Nelson Jr., Rossmore, W.Va., and Mike Nelson, Malinta, Ohio; sister, Angie Rice, Napoleon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, at 11 a.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Bloss Family Cemetery in W.Va.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
