WINDER – Rodney Gober, 49, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012.
He was the son of Raymond Gober of Blue Ridge and the late Emily Allene Gober. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was employed by Smith Funeral Home for over 20 years. He was the founder of Gober Music Ministry, founder of Blue Ridge Gospel Music Association, and a songwriter with BMI Music.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Penny H. Gober; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Allison Gober, Winder, and Roger and Rachel Gober, Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Gober Wilson and Chris Wilson, Winder; grandchildren, Bradyn Wilson, Alivia Gober, Peyton Gober, and Reid Gober; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Patricia Gober, Canton, and Ryan and Shelby Gober, Cumming; five nieces; one nephew; and innumerable family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, at 2 p.m., in Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
