CARLTON - Albert Lee Bales, 66, husband for 45 years to Gayle Dudley Bales, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Clinton Ruben and Jenny Mae Williams Bales. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Vicki Couch, Charles Bales, Clinton Bales, Jr., Rita Hooper and Margie Bray. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and retired from Alltel as a cable splicer after 32 years of service.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Albert Lee (Amy) Bales, Jr.; a daughter, Melanie (David "Yank") Callaway; brothers, Jimmy Bales, Michael Bales; sisters, Lois Wilson, Peggy Weir, Pam Page, Janie Page, Susan Cabe; grandchildren: Trey Bales, Anniston Bales, Payton Cromer, Alyssa Callaway, Kristen Callaway; sisters-in-law, Elaine Tate, Cheri and Lonnie Cox, and Frankie and Steve Horrocks; and several other family members.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
