COMMERCE - Thomas Bealer Smallwood, 86, passed away at the Northridge Medical Center on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Thomas Pharo and Durice Gibson Smallwood. Mr. Smallwood was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Oneda Sorrow Smallwood; and a son, Jerry Benson Smallwood.

Survivors include daughters, Martha G. Smallwood, Nancy B. Summers and Vickie D. Worley, all of Commerce; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 16, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry Webb and Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 15, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
