GAINESVILLE - Alma Gertrude Savage, 94, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born July 4, 1918 to the late Benjamin Taylor and Frances Stamey Jones in Clarksville, Georgia and was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. She was the last survivor of seven siblings, Leatha M. Jones, Norma J. Jones, H. Thurston Jones, Ida E. Jones, Clara B. Jones, Katie C. Jones and Ernest C.W. Jones
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Nemore Savage, Gainesville; niece, Deborah Savage, Gainesville; nephew, Ralph Savage, Flowery Branch; and several more nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 from the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Darryl Womack will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12–2 p.m., Monday, November 12 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
