LAVONIA - Jennie Caudell Elliott, 74, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born July 1, 1938 in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Mamie (Brady) Caudell. She was a homemaker and member of the Lavonia Church of God. Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by a son, William Randall "Randy" Coker; brothers, Alvin, Roy and Dewey Caudell; and sisters, Nina Nunnaly, Bertha Mealor, and Dorothy English.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Elliott, Lavonia; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Rodney Starrett, Kings Mountain, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Joyce Coker Baskins; granddaughters, Ashley Carrol, Kings Mountain, N.C., and Amber Buffington, Lavonia; grandson, Tyler Coker, Lavonia; stepson, Tim Elliott, Lavonia; stepdaughter, Kelli Scott, Lavonia; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Ethan Carroll, Kaitlyn and Reagan Buffington, and Hallie Coker; brother, Billy and wife Becky Caudell, Alto; sisters, Elisabeth Lee, Toccoa, Doris and husband Odell Coker, Toccoa, and Dorothy Parker, Baldwin; sister-in-law, Eula Mae Mintz, Maysville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, at the Lavonia Church of God with the Revs. Tyrone Hutchinson, Courtney Umbehant, and Ben Lumley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, November 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lavonia Church of God Building Fund.
