Hoyt Freeman Martin Jr., 74, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
He had a short illness for three weeks and left his earthly home while at home and went to his heavenly home peacefully. He was an active member of Pleasant Hill Church and was retired from Stepan Chemical Company. He loved home, working around the house and fixing things. He loved to go fishing and yard work was a joy to him.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Reba Holliday Martin; son, Leslie Scott Martin; daughter, Lori Giles; and grandson, Seth Giles, all of Winder; sisters, Agnes Brown, Winder, Ellen Skinner and husband Myron, Bethlehem; sister-in-law, Susan Martin, Winder; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Monday, November 5, at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Statham with the Revs. Jennifer Horton and Frank Colladay officiating. Music was provided by Dr. Eddie Bennett and Tammy Craft.
Lawson Funeral Home, Hoschton, was in charge of arrangements.
