COMMERCE – Beatrice J. Slocum, 85, died Sunday, November 4, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Young and Dessie Frady Jameson. Mrs. Slocum was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Johnny Charles Slocum. She was retired from K-Mart. She was a Pastor’s wife and her most important job was that of being a mother.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. Joe Slocum; two daughters, Sandara Fricks and Karen Barger; three brothers, Harold Jameson, Hoyt Jameson and Paul Jameson; three sisters, Pearl Looney, Maggie Walters and Stella Ray; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 6, at 2 p.m. from the Madison Street Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harbin and Jim Waller officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
