Neva Lackey (10-26-12)

WINDER - Neva Lackey, 93, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012.

She was born April 23, 1919 in Wetumka, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Christian Church in Winder. Mrs. Lackey was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Lackey and Homer Deroche; a son, Gene Deroche; daughters, Neva Joan Lemons and Eunice Foster.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Charles Lemons, Winder; daughter-in-law, Bonnie LaRovere, Winder; seven grandchildren, Lori Cain, Winder, Jim Lemons, Watkinsville, Ellen Gentry, Winder, Rick Feldman, Winder, Joe Deroche, Hemet, Calif., Charles Foster, Washington State, and LoAnn Foster, Washington State; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Sherma Wheat, Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Mary Jane Nelson, Sacramento, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 1, at Midway Christian Church with the Rev. John Birchmore officiating. Interment followed at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder.
