James Chastain (10-24-12)

JEFFERSON - James William Chastain, 71, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

Born in Jackson County, he was a son of the late Hoyt William and Nadine Harper Chastain. Mr. Chastain was the owner of C and R Motors, Inc. of Jefferson and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia L. Davis Chastain; Jefferson; daughter, Susan Ledbetter (Billy), Jefferson; sons, Jimmy Chastain, Jefferson, and Jason Chastain (April), Nicholson; three grandchildren, Amanda Ledbetter, Blake Ledbetter and Addisyn Chastain; and sister, Betty Hughes (Danny), Hoschton. Special thanks to Cindy, Laura and the staff at Homestead Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 28, at 4 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Terry Chambers and Tommy Seay officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday October 27, from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Sunday October 28, 2012 from 2 until 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East Suite 550 Atlanta, Ga. 30346

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
