NICHOLSON - Shirley Laverne Gearing, 64, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Grandview Nursing Home.
She was born in Athens, the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Damron Duncan. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Gearing was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Benjamin Gearing.
Survivors include daughters, Tracy Mallory, Bogart, Shelia Holcombe, Conyers, and Pam Riddle, Bishop; son, James Davis, Lexington; sister, Gretta Kinsella, Texas; brother, David Duncan, Georgia; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Walden Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, October 25, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
