Doyle Dean, Sr. (10-17-12)

COLBERT - Doyle Frank Dean, 87, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

A native of Danielsville, he was a beloved husband and father. Mr. Dean was the son of the late Frank Winifred and Bertha Mae Christian Dean. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Breece Dean, Horace Dean and Troy Dean; and three sisters, Helen Gordon, Mae Sue Tittle and Ethel Akins. He retired from Atlantic Ice Company and was a member of Colbert Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Virginia June Meadow Dean; five children, Nancy Dean (Johnny T.) King, Doyle F. (Carol Dake) Dean, Jr., Jerry (Linda) Dean, Sr., Sara Dean (Johnny) Cooper, and Darrell (Tracy) Dean; four sisters, Alberta (T.C.) Chesney, Leola Kelley, Frances (Lester) Smith and June (Hiram) James; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 20, at Lord and Stephens Brown's Chapel with the Rev. Brad Wilson officiating. Interment was in Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Kevin Michael Dean, Kyle Matthew Dean, Derek Cody Dean, Jeremy Dean (Abby) Cooper, Christopher Johnny Cooper and Kimberly June Cooper.

Memorials may be made to the American Dementia Association.

Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Brown’s Chapel, was in charge of funeral services.
