Lewis Neal Hix (10-16-12)

WINTERVILLE - Lewis Neal Hix, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

He was the son of the late John F. and Ruby Hix of Commerce. He was the former co-owner of Hair World Barber Shop in Athens.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Rebecca Hix (Becky); sons, Jeff Hix and girlfriend Caryn Demorest of Winterville, Doug Hix and daughter-in-law Kim Hix of Simpsonville, S.C. and daughter Sharon Hix and partner Tina Shelnutt of Winterville; grandchildren, Zachery Lewis Hix and Kelsie Elizabeth Hix, Simpsonville S.C.; a brother William F Hix, Winder; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be be held on Thursday, October 18, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Pritchett officiating Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
