Arthur Jackson “A.J.” Floyd, 88, died Friday, September 19, 2008.
He was born on October 1, 1919, in Madison County, the son of the late Luther Dickson and Emma Salena Treatt Floyd. He had lived most of his life in Madison and Clarke Counties and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army on The Island of Guam in World War II. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He loved people and did many deeds in life to help others, loved ones stated. Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Alma Floyd, Audrey Floyd Wilkes, William Hope Floyd, James Roscoe Floyd, Roy Malone Floyd and Margaret Floyd Martin Lord.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and dear friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 22, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Preacher Derek Anglin officiating. Burial was in Old Danielsville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Danielsville Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
