COMMERCE - Velma L. Youngblood Williamson, 92, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Northridge Health and Rehab Center.
She was born in Gwinnett County, the daughter of the late Robert Perry and Lonie Wilbright Youngblood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nuel Williamson; as well as other relatives.
Survivors include sons, Gerald (Brenda Gail) Williamson and Jimmy (Anne) Williamson, both of Commerce; daughter, Judy (Joe) Shepherd, Jefferson; brother, Robert (Lillie) Youngblood, Winterville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. and the service will be held on Thursday, October 18, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Howington Cemetery.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

Sad to see the old guard passing away. My mother and Velma use to travel places together, having loads of fun, good times and good days. I know losing dad was bad enough, but there is something about Mama. To Gerald, Jimmy and Judy, my deepest sympathy.
