COMMERCE - Winifred Gulley Chandler, 95, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Scenic View Nursing Home.
She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Lon C. and Mollie Crump Gulley. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was retired as a day care owner. Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elbie Johnson Chandler; brothers, Asbury Gulley, Ed Gulley, Fred Gulley and Swayne Gulley; and sister, Ruby Poole.
Survivors include a son, Billy Chandler, Commerce; sisters, Frances Brown, Greenville, S.C. and Geneva Standridge, Commerce; granddaughter, Lynn Crocker, Gainesville; and two great-granddaughters, Kennedy Crocker and Katherine Crocker, both of Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, October 18, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 17, from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1345 South Elm St., Commerce, GA 30529.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
