OAKWOOD - Sharon Hale Brooks, 61, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at Emory University Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born June 4, 1951, the daughter of the late Roy Dean and Winifred Susan Beatrice Hale, Sr. in Atlanta, and was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ronnie Brooks. Mrs. Brooks was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.
"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Brooks, Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Knight, Oakwood; brother, Gary Hale, Lilburn; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Vernon Turner, Flowery Branch; granddaughters, Victoria Wallis and Katherine Knight; sister-in-law, Pat Galloway, Chamblee; nieces, Debbie Sitter and Jenni Rearick; nephew, Keith Turner; and dear and close family friend, Fran Kimbel.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 14, at the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Crook officiated.
