Vallie Ree Chastain (10-13-12)

ROYSTON - Vallie Ree Beard Chastain, 81, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.

She was born in Madison County on November 2, 1930, the daughter of the late James Richard and Donnie Sexton Beard. She was a seamstress having worked for Oxford Manufacturing, and a member of the Zidon Baptist Church. Mrs. Chastain was preceded in death by her husband, James Chastain; brothers, John Beard, James Grady Beard, Richard Beard, Elmer Beard, and Jimmy Beard; sisters, Donnie Mae Kitchens, and Roberta Bennett.

Survivors include a son, Alvin Chastain, Danielsville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and a sister, Rosa Lee Hart, Royston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 15, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kenny Davison and Reggie Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Cary Memorial Gardens.
