LULA - Rachel Elizabeth Sartin Crocker, 88, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012, following an extended illness.
Born in Hart County, Georgia on March 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin and Bessie Pearl Kelly Sartin. Mrs. Crocker was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church. She enjoyed crocheting and giving to friends. She considered her children and grandchildren as her greatest accomplishments, often saying, "I just love them all alike." She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin S. Crocker; son, Stanley Wayne Crocker; brother, EM Sartin; sisters, Louise Sartin, Mary Frances Jamerson, Beatrice Echols, Willie Mae Phillips, and Dorothy Scales.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Swayne and Willie Mae Crocker, Ronnie and Nancy Crocker, all of Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Evalene and Lewis Davidson, Alto, Brenda and Arthur Arrowood, Gainesville, and Magalene and Samuel Pruitt, Jasper; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Duncan Crocker, Lula; brother, Billy Sartin; brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Jean Sartin, all of Greenwood, S.C.; sister-in-law, Cara Mae Edison, Dacula; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 30, from the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Revs. Deron Crocker, Tracy Davidson, and Todd Pruitt officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.
