COMMERCE - Jason Hix Carithers, 82, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Commerce, the son of the late Daniel and Lottie Hix Carithers. He was a member of Erastus Christian Church and was a retired high school teacher in the Henry County School System. Mr. Carithers was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Mae Grantham Carithers.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Carithers, Commerce; sister, Linda Jane Carithers, Commerce; and one grandson, Anthony Licata, Atlanta.
Funeral services will be at held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 21, at Erastus Christian Church with Steven Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hix Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Erastus Christian Church Thursday, September 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
