Doris Montgomery (9-17-12)

WINDER – Doris Montgomery, 90, died Monday, September 17, 2012.

Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Daisy Haymon Pierce. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and was retired from R&R Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, J.G. Montgomery.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Vickie Montgomery, Winder; grandsons, Chris and Alan Montgomery; great-granddaughters, Christy and Abby Montgomery; great-great-grandson, Liam Montgomery; and a sister, Imogene Wilkins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19, at 11 a.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. Johnny Wright and Shuford Jones officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 403 Cedar Creek Rd., Winder, GA 30680.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
