Adam Smith (9-15-12)

BUFORD - Adam Blake Smith, 16, died Saturday, September 15, 2012.

He was the son of Jan and Mike Smith of Buford, and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd O. Smith; and uncle, Benny Smith.

Adam was born January 23, 1996 in Lawrenceville, was and a lifelong resident of Buford. He was a Junior at Buford High School, No. "10" on the basketball team, and a member of First Baptist Church Buford. Adam loved life, his family, friends, sports and his walk with God.

Survivors in addition to his parents include brothers, Cory Smith and Chandler Smith, both of Buford; grandparents, Judy Pembroke "Mom-B," Buford, Ray and Cheryle Maddox, Hoschton, Roselle Smith, Sugar Hill; great-grandmother, Evelyn Maddox, Buford; aunts and uncles, Allison and Mike Bryant, Buford, Teresa Smith, Buford, Jimmy Smith, Camdenton, Mo., Randy and Barbara Smith, Powder Springs, Jimmy Maddox, Buford, and Jesse and Candace Maddox, Winder.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 19, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church Buford. The Revs. Stephen Fountain, Wayne Johnson, Matt Stacey and Mr. Banks Bitterman will officiate.

Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to The Adam Blake Smith Scholarship Fund at Peoples Bank and Trust, Buford.

Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, Buford, is in charge of arrangements.
