WINDER - Barbara Jane Carter, 69, died Saturday, September 15, 2012.
A native of Springfield, Ohio, she had lived in Barrow County since 1971. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Carter, Sr.
Always the entrepreneur, Mrs. Carter owned several businesses in the county including “Barrow Video,” one of the first for the area. After retiring in 2010, she started her newest career as a Genealogist.
Survivors include her children, Sherry Hoger, Debbie Queen, Gerald E. Carter, Jr., and Bo Carter; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was loved very much and will truly be missed.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 19, at 3 p.m., in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Winder.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bear Creek First Baptist Church, Winder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 18, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
