ATHENS - John W. Hill, Jr., 44, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Macon, the son of Wallace Hill of Athens and the late Laura Pat Harbison Hill. Mr. Hill was a member of the Commerce First United Methodist Church and the Kashima Shinryu School.

Survivors in addition to his father, include his wife, Stephanie Crumley Hill, Commerce; and his daughter, Cathleen Hill, Commerce.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 15 at 2 p.m. from the Commerce First United Methodist Church with David Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 14, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

Stephanie and Cathleen,
I just wanted to to tell you how sorry I am about John's passing. I know you will miss him. It's got to be so hard for someone Cathleen's age too. I didn't know John very well, but from what was said at the service today I could tell he was well loved.
