Mary Burks (8-31-12)

Mary Victoria Burks, 87, died peacefully under the care of family and hospice at Hill Haven Nursing Home on Friday, August 31, 2012.

She was born on January 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Ezra and Zylpha Day. She was preceded in death by her husband Curt Burks; and three sons, Jimmy, Bobby and Sammy. Over the course of her life, she worked as a nursing assistant, seamstress and in retail.

Survivors include grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell, at a later date to be determined.
