MACON – Elizabeth T. Bickel, 95, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, September 2, 2012.
Born on June 27, 1917, in Spartanburg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Dora Lee Wilson Toney. She was retired from Georgia Co Op for the Blind, working at the Federal Building and Macon City Hall in the concession stand. She was an active member of the Salvation Army with over 60 years of service. Mrs. Bickel was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Bickel; and grandson, Christopher Mason.
Survivors include children, Mary Anna Jenkinson, Helen, Rebecca (Eddie) Mason, Ft. Valley, and Dorothy (Mike) Collins, Macon; a sister, Mary Steed Williams, Commerce; brother, Warren Toney, Commerce; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, at 11 a.m., from the Bass United Methodist Church. Major Don and Daphanie Vick will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Webbs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 647 Webbs Creek Rd., Commerce GA 30529. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, September 4, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel in Forsyth.
