‘Spanky’ Gooch (8-27-12)

LULA - Christopher "Spanky" Brandon Gooch, 33, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

He was born March 9, 1979, in Buford, the son of Bradley Gooch and Alice Norris Gooch Day. He was employed with Simpson Trucking and attended Crossroads Baptist Church as a child. Spanky was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ronnie Martin; grandparents, Roy and Lorene Gooch; and grandfather, Jesse Norris.

Survivors include his parents, father and stepmother, Roy Bradley and Judy Gooch of Lula, mother and stepfather, Alice and Mike Day of Lula; wife, Amy Gooch, Lula; daughters, Brooke Gooch and Sydney Gooch, both of Lula; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeffery and Tammy Gooch and Mark and Amanda Gooch, all of Lula, and Shawn and Nikki Gooch, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Mandy and Stephen Barnes, Braselton; four nieces; two nephews; and grandmother, Mae Norris, Cleveland.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, September 1, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady White officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a trust fund for Spanky's daughters, Syndey and Brooke Gooch, United Community Bank.
