Major Lewallen (8-25-12)

COMMERCE - Major Banks Lewallen, 81, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late William and Lula Segars Lewallen. He was a member of Webbs Creek Baptist Church and was a retired poultry farmer. Mr. Lewallen was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Pettyjohn.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Estelle Pettyjohn Lewallen, Commerce; and sisters, Izora Stevens, Commerce, and Mary Howington, Monroe.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 26 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Wade Lott officiating. Interment was in Webbs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
