LULA – Daniel Timothy Tatum, 15, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012.
Born in Newport News, Va. on August 26, 1996, he was the son of Ronnie and Renee Cantrell Tatum of Lula. Daniel was an 11th grade student at Banks County High School, where he ran cross-country and was also enlisted in the JROTC Program. He loved to write music and draw in his spare time. Daniel also loved his siblings very much and had a special bond with his sister, Amber.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arvil Tatum, Jr.; an uncle, Kenneth Tatum; great-grandmother, Reba Cantrell; and great-grandfather, O.H. Whitfield.
In addition to his parents, survivors also include his sister, Amber Tatum, Lula; a brother, McKenzie Tatum, Lula; grandparents, Buddy and Janice Cantrell, Alto; and Annie Tatum, Demorest; uncle and aunt, Drew and Caryn Cantrell, Thompson; great-grandparents, Hershel Cantrell, Cornelia; Ruth and Bill Kepler, Alto; several cousins; and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, August 27, from the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Beasley officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Turpin officiating at the graveside.
