Lorenzo “Ted” Sims, 72, Carnesville, died Sept. 15, 2008.
A native of Fulton County, he was the son of the late Ervin Elder and Ora Georgia Matthews Sims. Sims was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Loganville. He was a past Master Mason, Zingara Lodge in Conyers. Sims was retired from Roadway after 30 years. He was also a member of teamsters Union Local 728. He was a former Scout Master with Cub Scouts.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn S. Sims, Carnesville; two sons, Ervin Teddy “Theo” Sims, Lawrenceville, and Edward “Ed” Sims, Danielsville; two daughters, Deloress J. “D.J.” Kolton, Tiger, and Evelyn Jill Hickory, Toccoa; one sister, Emily Glass, Smyrna; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Hal Tapp officiating. Burial was at Sims-McElroy Cemetery.
