Hazel Johnson Moore, 89, Jefferson, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008.
A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Bentley Assisted Living in Jefferson with the Rev. Fred Wilson and the Rev. Carey Gibson officiating. Private interment was at Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce.
Moore was born in Hancock County and lived most of her life in Jackson County. She was a member of Jefferson First United Methodist Church and was a retired teacher for Jackson County School System.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John L. Moore.
Survivors include her children, Betty Tonge, Suzanne and Herbert Skelton, Johnny and Robin Moore, all of Jefferson; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Appleby, Jefferson, and Margaret Tyson, Valdosta.
Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth, was in charge of arrangements.
