COMER - Henry Talmadge Sorrow, born May 4, 1922 in Comer, the son of the late Thomas W. and Myrtle P. Sorrow, went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, August 6, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Wood Sorrow; and a twin brother, Harold Sorrow.
Mr. Sorrow was a longtime member and deacon emeritus of Meadow Baptist Church. He retired from Westinghouse Electric and was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He was also a member of the Shannon Masonic Lodge in Comer.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sara Booth Sorrow; two daughters, Brenda (Glenn) Booth, Comer, and Linda (David) Brittain, Peachtree City; two grandsons, Buddy Brittain and Bill Brittain; two great-granddaughters, Gracie Brittain and Sophie Brittain; one sister-in-law, Ruth Sorrow; one niece; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, at Meadow Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Sarna officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 7.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meadow Cemetery Fund or the Meadow Baptist Church Building Fund.
