GILLSVILLE – Gracie Shubert, 94, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Northridge Nursing Facility.
Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late John and Leona Moore McDuffie. Mrs. Shubert was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Shubert; a son, Jackie Shubert; grandson, Lamar Shubert; and siblings, Mamie Payne, Junior McDuffie and Watson McDuffie.
Survivors include a son, Otho (Catherine) Shubert, Homer; daughters, Bonnie (Aaron) Welborn, Commerce, and Gail Shubert, Gillsville; brothers, Joe McDuffie, Maysville, Gene and Leon McDuffie, both of Commerce; sisters, Winnie Roach, Fayetteville, Dorothy Mizell, Betty McClung and Johnnie Shubert, all of Commerce; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, at 11 a.m. from the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Gillsville with the Revs. Earl Pirkle, Alex Stevens and Tim Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
