COMMERCE – Sara Whitlock Benton, 85, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at Northridge Nursing Facility.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Ethel Wilson Whitlock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Benton.
Survivors include sisters, Mary Brooks, Athens, Eleanor (Mike) Yates and Carolyn Autry, both of California, Jimmy (Mary) Whitlock, Commerce, and Max (Peggy) Whitlock, Nicholson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

WE WERE VERY HEART BROKEN ABOUT MRS.SARAS HOME GOING. SHE TAUHT ME EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT SEWING.SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.
