COMMERCE – Katie ‘Kate” Owensby Lacey, 89, died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at the Northridge Medical Center.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Allen C. and Mattie Sims Owensby. Mrs. Lacey was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Coley Lacey; and a son, William Lacey.
Survivors include daughters, Annette (Billy) Hanley and Gladys (Earl) Embrick, all of Commerce; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a number of great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bernice Owensby, Commerce.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Jim Waller and the Rev. Clinton Sexton officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
