Charles F. Wilson, 96, an Atlanta native, died Sunday, July 29, 2012.
He was a World War II veteran, retired from the Civil Service with the Department of the United States Army after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Chamblee First United Methodist Church, The Forum Sunday School Class, and the Chancel Choir.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Eleanor C. Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Wilson Fancher and her husband, Michael, and Cynthia Wilson Czerwonka and her husband, Jeffery; three grandchildren, Timothy Fancher, Ruth Fancher, and Selah Czerwonka; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, at the Chamblee First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Royeese Stowe, Brian Stowe, and the Rev. Joshua Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the funeral home. The remains will lie-in-state from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
