MONROE – Samuel “Clyde” Roberts, 86, died Saturday, July 28, 2012.
Born in Walton County, he was the son of the late Charlie Ross and Nellie Brooks Roberts. He was a self-employed farmer. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Vanderford Roberts.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Jean Roberts, Monroe; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Virginia Whitehead, Monroe, Dorothy Evans and Mary Alice Roberts, both of Bethlehem, and Ruby Nell Whitker, Augusta.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, at 11 a.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Varin Vogt officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, July 30, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
