GAINESVILLE - Phillip Dean Artman, 59, died Friday, July 20, 2012, following a courageous six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Dean passed away peacefully at his home in Gainesville.
He was born on February 7, 1953, in Lebanon, Ind., the son of John and Alice Artman. He was the beloved husband of Debra (Irby) Artman for 40 years.
Dean will forever be remembered by his devoted family, his wife Debra; parents, John and Alice Artman; four beloved children and their spouses, Chris and Samantha Artman, Nathan and Michelle Artman, Aron and Alicia Artman, and Casey Artman; five treasured grandchildren; two brothers, Bill and Gary Artman; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Dean loved life and his family.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
A time of visitation for remembrance will be held on Wednesday, July 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park South Funeral Home in Flowery Branch.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dean's honor to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.org.
