Roy Lathren (7-11-12)

COMMERCE - Roy Michael Lathren, 61, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Greenwood, S.C., the son of Ernest and Barbara Lathren of Greenwood, S.C. He was a member of Freedom Church of God and was retired from Gwinnett County Fire Department.

Survivors in addition to his parents, include his wife, Linda Price Lathren, Commerce; daughters, Melissa Reichert, Lula, Michelle Brookshire, Dacula, and Melody Powell, Athens; sister, Sharon Eads, Chatsworth; ; brothers, Ernie Lathren, Morganton, N.C. and Mark Lathren, Stockbridge; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, at Freedom Church of God with the Revs. Douglas Lee and Jason Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
