Minnie Faye Moon (6-6-12)

COMER - Minnie Faye Moon, 94, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012.

A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Van and Leila Brooks Scarboro. Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Moon; a son, Van Bethel Moon; daughter, Zula Moon Childers Helton; five sisters; and one brother. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was owner of Moon's BBQ and Grocery. Ms. Moon was also a seamstress for 31 years at Blue Bell.

Survivors include a son, Joe (Susan) Moon; seven grandchildren, Lynnitte Umbehant, Faye Johnson, Jeff Childers, Diane Russell, Sheri Landreth, David Moon and Dennis Moon; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. James Creason officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Brown Chapel Danielsville has charge of arrangements.
