TIGNALL - Ruby Garmon Pruitt, 71, formerly of Cumming, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at University Hospital in Augusta, following an extended illness.
She was born April 21, 1941, the daughter of the late Major and Viona Reeves of Dahlonega. She was a former member of Cumming Second Baptist Church and had worked for Cornett Carpet Company. Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry C. Garmon; and a daughter, Rhonda Seifer.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Lamar Pruitt, Tignall; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry "Boss" and Lisa Garmon, Gainesville, and Dennis and Carolyn Anderson, Suches; son, Jeff Garmon, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Robert Coleman, Chattanooga, Tenn.; stepdaughter and husband, Cathy and Billy Darby, Cumming, two brothers; six sisters; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 9, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Sam Rickett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 8, at the funeral home.
