WINDER – Jimmy Warren Hunt, 64, died Sunday, July 1, 2012.
Born in Griffin, he was the son of Frances Hunt of Griffin and the late T.C. Hunt. He was a graduate of O’Keefe High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. He then worked as a fireman for the City of Atlanta. He then was employed by Johns Manville and also served as a volunteer firefighter before leaving the work force.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila G. Hunt, Winder; sons, Jimmy Hunt Jr., Pooler, and Wesley Hunt, Winder; daughters, Missy Hunt, Conyers, and Jessica Hunt Hanson, San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Ted Hunt, Austell; sister, Linda Hunt Coggins, Griffin; sisters-in-law, Charlene Ray, Hull, and Kathy Dockery, Winder; seven nieces; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Billy Ray Banks officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, July 2, from 6 to 9 p.m.
