Robert Tyler Bush, 17, of Commerce, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, following injuries he received in an accident on Sunday in Banks County.

Bush, a senior at Banks County High School, was the son of Rita Hart Bush, Commerce, and the late Kenny Bush. He was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include grandparents, Ken and Norma Bush, Maysville, and Gene and Thelma Hart, Commerce.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 12, at 2 p.m., at the New Salem United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Blair, Allen Carmichael and Charles Crabbe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 11, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

I want you to know how truly sorry I am for your loss and hope you find the strength to carry on. I have always thought so much of you and Tyler both and it pains me to have to send my condolences for such a tragic loss. Taurus and I have always held you in high regard, we wish you peace of mind knowing Tyler is home with Kenny. I hope you know you can call on us for anything you may need. We will continue to keep you and your families in our prayers.

There are no words that can express the amount of sorrow being felt by this loss. Tyler was loved by so many people young and old. Not only was he loved by many, but he loved many! Tyler was full of life and he believed in living it to the fullest. Whether you knew him 17 years or 1 hour he touched you in some way that you can never forget!

Tyler, you will be missed beyond words! Thanks for always treating Jake like an equal even though you were older than him. He always looked up to you and he too misses you very much! I can't wait to see you again one day! I am sure you are one of the brightest angels by God's side! R.I.P.

~~I'm not sure of anything else I could say right now to make any of this easier for Tyler's family or friends. I knew Tyler and thought the world of him and this tragedy has broken my heart so bad. Tyler is a great and kind person and always showed me respect. All that I can say right now is that he will be missed!!!!!!~~

I’m sorry for you loss. When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. When your heart is empty, filling it with happy memories can help you find your smile. It’s hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing you were a special part of such a well-lived life. May all the happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time.

I went to high school with Kenny and had one class with him. I will never forget the smile on his face. He was a wonderful person as I sure his son was.

You’re in my thoughts every step of the way and I hope it lightens your burden to know that people are thinking of you and your family during this time. Always remember God is always in your corner at a time like this – and so are a lot of other people.

I just wantted to say that I am sorry to hear about the
loss my family just had with loosing tylor cause he is such a great kid from what I knew of him. I dont know him all that great with living over a thousand miles away but I do love my family a
and would like them to know that I am very sorry that he

It is with deepest condolences that we send to Heaven one of God's children.

This tragedy has turned the world upside down and has effected many more lives than the family or Tyler will or would ever know.

Prayers of strength are being sent to the family, friends and others who were so lucky to have this young man in their lives.

Rita, we am so terribly sorry for the loss you are experiencing. You are a very special lady along with Tyler. We never can understand why people we love are taken from us but we must trust that, "to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 5:3. robert t bush was my best friend and always knew how to keep me smiling.
he is a dear friend to many and we all are going to miss him so much.
we can't understand why God takes those we love, but just know that tyler is in a better place, and is now getting to spend time with his father.
tyler is watching over all of us and keeping us all safe and trying to help ease or pains.
i just want rita to know that tyler is always there for her no matter what all she has to do is look to the sky. he loves you dearly.
i am praying for all of us that are feeling the pain and i am asking God to help us all get through this.
we can't be mad at God although most of us don't understand why tyler was the one he chose this time, but everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for us all.
just remember that robert t bush is not here on this earth with us, but he will always be here in our hearts and mind.

Rita - You've always been a strong woman! I've looked up to you a lot through the years because of that strength! I've watched you raise Tyler as a single mama and still become such a great person! It is going to take time to heal, as you already know! You suffered a great loss when Kenny passed away. You strived through and became such a great parent and role model for Tyler! Keep that strength and faith! We will all see Tyler again one day! When we walk through the gates we'll probably see Tyler driving God's chariot through the mud and smiling!

Dear Bush Family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. I used to be a friend of your sons until I moved away about three years ago. I was really suprised to hear of the news. He was a really special person, and even know I wasn't that close to him, I am deeply saddened because he was just one of those types of people that everyone loved. In fact many thought that I wouldn't even remember who he was, but it's hard to forget someone of that character. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, and I hope that God will be able to get you through these times.

i am terriably sorry for the loss. We all knew tyler was a great person inside and out. All we can do is have a better life for ourselves so we may see him again someday. Remember hes not gone forever!

I dont know much about this except what I have read here in the paper, but I think I have a cool idea if it could be made to work. If Tylers friends and family could get one of the local racetracks that can accomodate drag races to get them to use the facitly to hold a memorial race for Tyler. The paper could co-sponsor it (as an appology?). Friends could enter. It would be done in a controled environment and be safe (or safer)for people to pay homage to their loved one. This could turn into something good for the community and even be done annually in his rememberence. Tyler Bush Memorial Drag Day. Some may not like it, but I think that would be really cool.

I wanted to write this in response to the editorial but they would no longer accept comments. I thought it would be good for you to see, in case no one had thought of this yet. I'm so sorry for your loss. May God bless your son.

i went to the funeral and carissa and cailynn came home with me. if you could see how they acted, how they talked, and they way they did it.
cailynn thought of him as a brother. she woke up and said " i miss tylers truck engine waking me up every morning at five thirty"
i felt so sad. his picture on his funeral program was so adorable. and his casket...the picture of him standing infront of his big ol' truck..
so many memories at new salem with him and cameron and brandon.
brandon a. would always pick on me with cameron and he would just snicker every time i yelled at them.

i only knew him for 2 years but when i heard of his death it was like a shotgun blast to the stomach
