Lucius Carney

Lucius G. Carney, 82, of Hull, died Monday, September 1, 2008.

A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Etta Scruggs and Gordon Carney. He was a retired teacher who taught eighth grade in both Clark and Oglethorpe Counties and was a member of Hull Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Anglin Carney; children, Gary Alan Carney (Kathy), and Sandra Spears (Buz); a brother, Hoyt Carney; and a granddaughter, Erica Carney
.
A private family service was held Tuesday, September 2.

Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
