Alberta Drake (6-7-12)

DANIELSVILLE – Alberta Adams Drake, 88, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her residence.

Born in Madison County on October 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Vinnie Fowler Adams. She was a retired seamstress from Georgia Sportswear in Ila and was a member of the Ila Baptist Church. Mrs. Drake was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Drake; brother, Hope Adams; and sisters, Ida Rachel Adams, Mary Dean and Aletha Bridges.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Carol Drake and Jerry and Patsy Drake, all of Danielsville; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Donald Carr, Amy and Jayson Summers; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Lydia and Madelyn Carr and Mary Drayke Summers; sister, Norma G. Arnold, Hull; and caregivers, Ann Westmoreland, Shirley Epps, Shirley Standridge, Barbara Brown, Ann McKie and Linda Osley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m., from the Ila Baptist Church with the Revs. Murray Brett and Billy Owensby officiating. Burial will be in the Ila City Cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Friday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The family is at home.
