William Self (6-6-12)

ATHENS - William Jackson Self, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

A native of Clarke County, he was the son of the late John C. and Lucille Norton Self. He served in the United States Coast Guard, retired from Dairy Pac, and was a member of Campus View Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Olivia Olvey Self, Athens; a son, Brett Jackson Self and wife, Melissa Ann, Winder; daughter, Arryss Danielle Burke, Athens; brothers, Vernon Self, Athens, and Ray Self, Winterville; and grandchildren, Cody Tyler Self, Noah James Self, and Aislynn Burke Chau.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, at 4 p.m. in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Preacher Butch Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.
