LULA - Shirley Heaton Argo, 76, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Henry and Mittie Savage Heaton. She was a member of Yonah Congregational Holiness Church and was a homemaker.
"Memaw" was loved by all, and she loved others deeply. She lived her life with positive attitude, integrity, and a smile. She had numerous health issues throughout the years of which she fought long and hard with no complaints. Regardless of her suffering she was always happy to see you and had a kind word for friends and family whether in person or on the telephone. She was the most courageous, unselfish, loving, brave, humble person many will ever know. We will all miss her terribly, this very special blessing from God.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Alton G. Argo; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Argo Clower (Jeffrey), Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Keith Argo (Joni), Cumming; granddaughter, Margo Clower; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, April Argo Walden (Addison) and Katie Argo Davidson (James); and brothers, Howard Heaton, Royston, Leland Heaton, Cannon, and G.W. Heaton, Norcross.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Penile Holiness Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
