TALMO - Harris Denver "Dink" Elrod, 71, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
He was born in Pendergrass, the son of the late Clyde Harrison and Sadie Oliver Elrod. He was retired as owner of Elrod Builders and was a member of the Pond Fork Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Elrod was preceded in death by a son, Donald Harris Elrod; sister, Jennie Gee; and brothers, Pete and Herbie Elrod.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Jean Haynes Elrod, Talmo; sons, Clyde H. (Deborah) Elrod, Athens, and Casey A. (Blaire) Elrod, Gainesville; daughters, Sondra Renee (Joe) Davis, Hoschton, and Michelle (Anthony) Gaddis, Braselton; a sister, Mary Helen Livsey, Grayson; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Elrod and Johnny Knight officiating. The visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
