COLBERT - Phyllis Vivian Cook Marshall Buss, born April 12, 1921 in Alexandria, Ind., passed away at her home in Colbert on Friday, May 18, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Delbert Cook and Flora Barnett Cook Wright; and sisters and brothers, Dicy Perry, Ross Cook, Glen Cook, Mable Spalding, Audia Stevens, Jessie Catron, Mary Cook, and Jim Cook; as well as her husbands, Frank Marshall and Robert Buss.
Phyllis belonged to the Rebecca lodge and Past Grand Nobel. She was a longtime volunteer for the Red Cross and domestic violence chapter.
Survivors include four children, Mary (Sam) Cummins, Joe (Katie) Marshall, Susan (Danny) Kelley, and Betsy Marshall (Farley Gordon); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her loving cat, Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to local domestic violence chapters or your favorite charity.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until service time.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
