ATHENS - Jane Deloris Slay, 72, died Monday, May 14, 2012.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Janie Strickland Nunnally. She retired as manager of the University of Georgia Bookstore after 30 years and was a member of East Athens Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George Slay; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy J. (Mike) Murphy, Daytona Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, East. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the St. Mary's Hospital staff of the fifth floor for their care and concern.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
